Baseball All-Star Tournament Team Selection Criteria

West Valley Families . . . it’s hard to believe, but it’s the time of year that we start thinking about the 2024 All-Stars season!!!  This is an exciting time for those interested in playing baseball this summer. 

 

When it comes to All-Stars, we have a lot of specific dates and forms that must be competed correctly and in a timely fashion, so please read carefully!

 

If after reading through, you’d like to sign your child up to be considered for an all-star team, please fill out the form below so we can check residence and age requirements prior to tryouts.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THROUGH EVERYTHING!

Attached you will find a link to our 2024 All-Stars Commitment Form and below is the Little League School Enrollment Form.  These Commitment and School Enrollment forms must be turned in by Thursday, May 9th, for your child to be considered for an All-Stars team.

Note:  if you have a player that goes to school outside of the WVLL boundary, but you reside in Eagle/Star/Middleton we will have to gather Proof of Residency instead of the School Enrollment Form.  Please see info below.  One item from each group is needed.   

            Group 1:  1 document needed of the following with a qualifying address

1.     Driver’s License or photo ID of parent(s) or guardian(s)

2.     School records with home address of player’s parent(s) or guardian(s)

3.     Vehicle records (registration, lease, etc)

4.     Employment records

5.     Insurance document

Group 2:  1 document needed of the following with a qualifying address

1.     Welfare or child care records

2.     Federal records (stat tax, local, etc)

3.     Local records (water/sewer, sanitation, etc)

4.     Support payment records

5.     Homeowner or tenant records (mortgage, rent, etc)

6.     Military records

Group 3:  1 document needed of the following with a qualifying address

1.     Voter’s registration

2.     Utility bill )gas, electric, water/sewer, phone, mobile phone, heating, etc)

3.     Financial records (loan, credit, investments, etc)

4.     Medical records

5.     Internet, cable, or satellite television records

 

NOTE 1:  3 documents from the same Group constitute only ONE document

NOTE 2:  Certain documents may be used in different Groups, but will count for only one Group per child.  Example – if a water/sewer bill is used to satisfy Group 2, that same bill CANNOT be used as a utility bill to satisfy Group 3.

Commitment forms are due by:  Thursday, May 9th  

Uniform sizing and Commitment Form Turn In will take place at Hunter’s Creek: 

Wednesday, May 8th  – 6pm-8pm

Thursday, May 9th  – 6pm-8pm

 

All-Star Managers Announced:  Wednesday, May 15th

 

 

Assessments for All-Stars League Age 9, 10, 11, 12 will take place on: 

Saturday, May 18th @ Hunter’s Creek 

            9’s and 10’s – 3:30pm – 5:30pm (3:00pm check-in)

11’s and 12’s – 6:00pm – 8:00pm (5:30pm check-in)

 

All-Star teams announced:  May 18thth, 2024 on WVLL Site and by email

 

All-Star Parent Meeting – Sunday, May 19th for any player that makes a team (fees and any paperwork still needed will also be due)

Friday, May 31st  – FIRST TOURNEY STARTS!!!

 

Below you will find a brief outline of the time commitment required of an All-Star Tournament Player and his/her family. Please review the schedule carefully. 

 

Practices Begin:  All-Star Teams will be announced to the League May 18th and All-Star season tournaments start May 31st, 2024

 

Practices are:  Daily, with a minimum of six days a week in most cases.

 

Games:  In addition to practices, players will participate as an All-Star Team in tournaments (dates and locations below) prior to the District Tournament (see dates below) with the West Valley All-Star Team Only.  Parents should be aware that some tournaments will schedule games for Sunday’s meaning players could play 7 days a week.

 

Idaho District 2 Championship Tournament:  Dates are not official and subject to change

Age Divisions: 9, 10, 11 and 12

Location:  TBD 

Date: TBD – likely  6/24 – 6/27, then 7/5 – 7/10  

Idaho State Championships (North Idaho):  Dates are not official and subject to change

Age Divisions: 10, 11 and 12

Location: TBD – up North

Date:  July 19th  – July 21st  (must be there day before for State BBQ)

 

Tournaments Teams will participate in addition to ones listed above:

 

MYBS Keith Bird Memorial – May 31st – June 2nd (Meridian Idaho)

TBD? – June 9th – June 11th

MYBS Dairy Days – June 16th – June 20th (Meridian, Idaho)

Other tournaments as decided by the Manager of the team

 

Financial:     WVLL will pay for the equipment and registration fees for the District Tournament and registration fees for any further play for state and regional tournaments.  The family will be responsible for the uniform fee plus any of their travel costs for tournaments.  Additionally, players will be responsible for their share of the entry fees in the pre-district tournaments.  These payments will be due at the All-Stars Parent Meeting on Sunday, May 19th.

All Stars can seem like a big undertaking.  The commitment is very real, but with the amount of baseball that is played, the development that these kids will see is significant.
