Welcome Coaches!

Welcome to Coaches Corner
Thank you for volunteering to coach with WVLL. Your time, energy, and leadership make a real difference for our players, families, and community.

This is the WVLL home for coaches, offering guidance, support, and resources throughout the season. Our goal is to give you the tools and resources to be a successful coach while creating a positive Little League experience that promotes player growth and teaches important life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment.

We value the commitment our coaches give and hope this space helps you teach the game the right way and create a season players and families will remember. Please reach out via email if you have any questions.

PITCHING CENTER

Protecting Young Arms First
Pitch count management is one of the most important responsibilities in youth baseball. If you have played the game or know someone who has, you likely know someone who has “thrown their arm out.” Let’s avoid Tommy John for our youth players by adhering to pitch count and rest rules. These rules are in place for the safety of our kids and are strictly enforced and fully supported by the WVLL Board.

This section provides required pitch affidavits, pitch count logs, rest day guidelines, and other resources to help manage pitchers safely. While tools like GameChanger can assist with tracking, coaches are still encouraged to maintain a paper record.

Coach Responsibility: Coaches are responsible for accurately tracking pitch counts, following mandatory rest requirements, and ensuring every player’s long-term health and enjoyment of the game.
